It started with a simple need. Something that worked.
After a lifetime in the building trade, our founder knew first-hand how unforgiving manual work could be on the skin. Years of exposure to chemicals, cement, oils and the elements left his hands dry, cracked and sore. Off-the-shelf products promised results but rarely delivered.
So he went back to basics. Inspired by traditional skincare remedies and a desire for something natural, he began experimenting in his kitchen. The goal was simple: to create a balm that was deeply nourishing, genuinely effective and free from the unnecessary.
What he discovered was the power of tallow. A time-honoured ingredient that had been used for centuries to care for skin. Blended with essential oils and sustainable, skin-loving ingredients, the first batch of balm was born. Originally made for his own hands, it soon became a go-to for the whole family, from hardworking skin to little ones with delicate needs.
That’s how Howton Tallow began. A small idea, rooted in experience, grown into a range of honest, handmade skincare products that really work.
